About Scott Parker

Hey, that's me!

As you may have guessed, I’m Scott Parker, aka "citizenparker" or "scoopsy". I am a software developer located in beautiful Chicago, Illinois. While I have an interest in a variety of languages (especially Ruby and Clojure lately), typically I work with languages targeting .NET and the CLR / DLR. I am an active and proud participant in Chicago ALT.NET and the Polyglot Programmers of Chicago, and encourage anyone in the Chicago area to hook up with either group. We don’t bite, I promise.

I have a deep passion for practical enterprise architecture, and I think my favorite interview question ever is "Explain what 'bad code' means to you."

If you want to get in touch, please use the “Contact” button above. If you’re looking for a talented developer on the LAMP stack instead, the best PHP developer in the world is probably my brother, Jeff Parker*.

For those who have visited this site before, it has yet another redesign. This one is my handiwork except for some heavily modified versions of icons in the delightful Sketch'd Up icon set by Oliver Twardowski.
